Starting Point: Mevagissey
Begin your journey in the harbour village of Mevagissey, a place that exudes Cornish charm with its narrow streets, traditional cottages and bustling harbour. Take some time to explore the local shops and grab a cup of coffee or a Cornish pasty before setting off on the path.
Milestone: Polstreath Beach (2 miles from Mevagissey)
After a gentle start, the path climbs steeply out of Mevagissey to deliver spectacular views of the bay. Continue along the path until you reach Polstreath Beach, a hidden gem that can only be accessed by a steep flight of stairs. The beach is a great place to take a break and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Facilities: No facilities at Polstreath Beach – carry your own supplies.
Milestone: Pentewan (4 miles from Mevagissey)
The path continues through beautiful woodland and along the coast to the village of Pentewan. Once a bustling port, the village is now a peaceful haven with a sandy beach and a few shops and cafes. This is a good place to rest and refuel before continuing on the path.
Facilities: Public toilets, cafes and shops are available in Pentewan.
Milestone: St. Austell Bay (6 miles from Mevagissey)
As you leave Pentewan, the path climbs to offer stunning views over St. Austell Bay. The path then descends through woodland and crosses a stream before climbing again to the cliffs above the bay, where you will find a perfect spot to take in the stunning coastal views.
Facilities: No facilities on the path – make sure you carry everything you need.
Finishing Point: Par
The final stretch takes you through fields and along the coastline to the town of Par. Here, you can rest and celebrate the end of your journey. Par is known for its large sandy beach, perfect for a relaxing end to your walk. The town also offers a range of amenities including shops, cafes and pubs.

Points to Remember
Terrain: This section includes both woodland paths and exposed cliff-top trails, with several steep ascents and descents. Good walking boots are recommended.
