Stride out on a truly exhilarating section of the South West Coast Path that takes you from the sandy beaches of Sennen Cove to the captivating cove of Porthcurno. This walk, though relatively short, offers a potent mix of verdant cliff tops, steep descents into enchanting coves, and breathtaking views out to the Atlantic Ocean. Be prepared for some challenging climbs, but remember, every ascent unveils another stunning vista.

Starting Point: Sennen Cove
Your journey begins in Sennen Cove, a scenic and lively beach town that’s popular with surfers. Before you set off, take a moment to soak in the vibrant atmosphere, watch the surfers riding the waves, and perhaps grab a bite to eat at one of the beachfront cafes.
Note: Public toilets are available at Sennen Cove.
Gwenver Beach (1 mile from Sennen Cove)
As you leave Sennen Cove behind, the path climbs steadily up onto Pedn-men-an-mere where you’ll be rewarded with marvellous views back over the cove and Whitesand Bay. From here, the path descends to the secluded Gwenver Beach. It's a bit of a steep climb down, but the beauty and tranquillity of this sandy beach make it a worthy detour for a peaceful break.
Facilities: None at Gwenver Beach – be sure to bring your own supplies.
Aire Point (2 miles from Sennen Cove)
Leaving Gwenver, the path ascends again, leading you towards Aire Point. This stretch can be challenging but the panoramic views of the coastline make it worthwhile. As you round the point, the path descends into a valley before another steep climb up Treen Cliff, offering some of the most dramatic cliff scenery on the Cornish coast.
Facilities: None directly on the path, so make sure you have what you need.
Porthchapel Beach (3 miles from Sennen Cove)
Continuing along the path, you'll descend steeply into Porthchapel Beach. This hidden gem, sandwiched between towering cliffs, is a perfect spot for a picnic and a refreshing dip in the sea if the tide is out and you're feeling adventurous.
Facilities: None at Porthchapel Beach, so ensure you're well-stocked with provisions.
Final Stretch: Porthcurno (3.7 miles)
The last stretch of the path takes you up the valley and over the headland to the stunning Porthcurno beach, renowned for its fine white sand and turquoise waters. Known as the 'Paradise Cove', Porthcurno is also home to the famous Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre carved into the granite cliff. If you have time, make sure to visit this iconic landmark. Once you've taken in the scenes, celebrate the completion of your walk at the Porthcurno Beach Cafe.
