Starting Point: Port IsaacBegin your trek in Port Isaac, a picturesque village known for its narrow, winding streets and traditional stone and slate houses. Fans of the TV show Doc Martin will find the surroundings familiar, as the series was filmed here. After exploring the village and maybe grabbing a quick bite at one of its cosy cafes, find the coastal path heading north-west out of Port Isaac.

Pentire Steps and Park Head (5 miles from Port Isaac)Leaving Port Isaac, you'll find the landscape changing as you encounter dramatic cliffs and the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. At Pentire Steps, the path descends steeply to a beach at the base of the cliffs, a glorious spot for a rest and a snack. As you continue on, you'll reach Park Head, where you can take in the stunning views of Bedruthan Steps, a series of gigantic rock stacks that jut out from the sea.

Trevose Head and Lighthouse (7.5 miles from Port Isaac)After leaving Park Head, keep your eyes peeled for the Trevose Head Lighthouse, a beacon that has guided mariners for over 150 years. As you approach, take a moment to enjoy the panoramic views of the coastline stretching out in both directions. The lighthouse itself is not open to the public, but its striking presence adds to the charm of the landscape.

Final stretch: Padstow (11.7 miles from Port Isaac)As you draw near to Padstow, the path becomes less rugged, passing through farmland and along estuary paths. The bustling harbour town is a fitting end to your journey, with its vibrant mix of shops, cafes, and pubs. Be sure to try some local seafood before you leave - Padstow is well known for it. You have earned it!
